Tools I Use

Tool Site 1: Wes Bos

I love Wes's site to start with because he offers a lot of great coding info and free courses. His Uses page is very extensive! It was interesting to see the variety of editors he uses for different purposes. Since he records courses and a podcast, he also had equipment for those listed as well. Overall, it was a great list to look through and I found some new programs to try.

Tool Site 2: Christian Oliff

Christian's website is a blog about a variety of things in web design. I had fun looking through his various posts. I love learning these fun techniques and tricks as well as finding out about new technology. His Uses page had a great list of all of the things he uses. One thing I'm always drawn to on these pages is the list of external services that people use. I find that this is one thing I share with people often. He had a few that I hadn't heard of before. I was especially interested in Plausible Analytics as an alternative to Google Analytics. I have talked to people that are anti-Google and want more privacy but want analytics. This will be a good option to look into for those cases.

Tool Site 3: Nick Reutlinger

Nick's site impressed me as he is 17 and already in deep in the web development world! It was fun to look through the projects he's developed. His Uses list was also very thorough. Again, I loved looking at the services he uses and was especially drawn to the icon sites he mentioned: Simple Icons and Reshot. I'm definitely going to bookmark those to reference in the future.

Summary of the Documentation

It was really interesting to look through the sites and find new resources to use for my own web design. I ended up looking through many of the sites on the uses.tech site. These Uses pages are a great way to find out about new and different options for editors, services, software, hardware, and more.
